Upper Library Study Hall
From the 1st Semester of SY 2023-2024, Peer Tutoring Club launched the “Study Hall.” Study Hall takes place during middle and high school recess (12:20~13:05) in the upper library and operates throughout the week. At least one PTC tutor is on duty every day, and each day comprises a unique teaching subject. Students can easily identify PTC tutors by their name tags. ***DURING WEDNESDAY MS LUNCH, YOU MAY COME TO OUR MEETING IN MS. LUALHATI's ROOM(302) TO RECEIVE TUTORING***. "Buddy" Partnership with Grade 2
From March 2023, Peer Tutoring Club established a partnership with Mrs. Kaschub’s Grade 2 classroom. Our tutors, or “Buddies,” visit these students every Wednesday during lunch recess and provides support over various academic activities as Mrs. Kaschub’s teaching assistants. In particular, these “Buddies” facilitate various activities that foster English language usage (such as fundamental reading and spelling skills), reading comprehension, and linguistic creativity. Peer Tutoring Club would like to raise a huge shout-out to Raina Lee, Anthony Park, Annie Cho, and Apple Jun for their proactive participation in this partnership.
High School Advisory Blooket Trivia
On March 23rd, Peer Tutoring Club hosted a Blooket (trivia platform similar to Kahoot) trivia during High School Advisory. The standard trivia competition comprised questions covering academic subjects taught by peer tutoring club (including AP Psychology, Biology, Chemistry, Algebra II, and Chinese Language and Culture) and a few PTC-related awareness questions. The competition was fierce, and 9A Advisory Classroom enjoyed the honor of the First Place and received a pizza party as a reward.
Individual Service Log: Science Experiment Class
Besides in-school education projects that Peer Tutoring Club hosted, several PTC members -- individually, as a non-DIS-affiliate -- formed a long-term education partnership with Dalseo-gu District After School Academy (달서구청소년수련관), a government-funded district after school academy. These students host "Science Experiment Class (과학 실험교실)" on a weekly basis (1 hour/week), preparing the lesson plan and experimental materials themselves. The experiment sessions they offer include but are not limited to Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Earth Science.
